I'm a Clinical Nutritionist who helps female runners fuel properly. I learned why it matters the hard way.

Where this started

I was the kid who ran everything. Sprints, cross-country, and a very real plan to chase the Olympics. Then my knees gave out and that plan went with them.

The part I didn’t understand for years was what food had to do with it. I was my school rowing team’s cox, which meant staying under 50 kg. I started fainting at 11 and had an eating disorder by 15. At 20 I lost my period for 18 months, and my shin splints never properly healed.

Nobody connected any of it to under-fuelling. I didn’t either. I just assumed I needed to try harder.

What I kept seeing later

When I started SJC, I was working with gut health and women’s hormones. But the same story kept turning up in different clothes. A client would come in about IBS, or low energy, or a period that had gone missing, and she’d mention she was running a lot. Her training was fine. She was just running on empty.

So I narrowed in. Now I work with one group of people, and I know her well.

How I work

I don’t hand out flat calorie targets or a meal plan for the average runner. Your plan is built around your real training week, your cycle and your life, and it changes when they do. We check in regularly, I tell you the truth even when it’s not what you were hoping to hear, and if something needs a GP, I work with yours.

I also hold a Cert III and Cert IV in Fitness and I’m a qualified Reformer Pilates instructor, so strength and recovery are part of the conversation too, not an afterthought.

Everything is online, so it doesn’t matter where in Australia you are. I’m in Ballarat. I keep my client list small on purpose.

Who I’m a good fit for

You’ve been running for a while. Maybe you’ve got a half marathon coming up, maybe you just love your Saturday run and your run club group chat. You’re training around work and life, and lately you’re tired, sore, flat, or your cycle has changed.

You don’t need to be fast. You do need to be open to eating more than you think you should.

I’m not the right person if your main goal is weight loss, or if you want a plan with no check-ins.
